Notes

Put yeast, flour, salt, dry milk, shortening, water and egg in the bread machine and process on the dough cycle. When it is finished, remove the ball of dough and place it on a plate that has been sprayed with cooking spray. Also spray the inside of a metal bundt pan with cooking spray. In a small bowl, mix together the white and brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla powder, and nuts. In another small bowl melt the butter or margarine. Using kitchen shears, snip small pieces of dough from the big ball. The pieces should be about the size of a large scoop of cookie dough. Dip each small piece in the melted margarine and then coat thoroughly with cinnamon sugar. Drop the coated pieces into the bundt pan. Sprinkle on the nuts as you go, if desired. Pour the remaining melted margarine and cinnamon sugar over the top. At this point the dough can be left out to rise for about an hour or you can put the pan into the refrigerator and bake it the next morning for breakfast. The pan can go straight from the fridge into the oven, no need to let it rise in the morning. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes. Turn upside down onto a serving plate and EAT! Note: For plain butter monkey bread (dinner roll pull apart): The monkey bread is just the same as the Cinnamon Bundt, same dough, just use the butter not the cinnamon sugar mixture. Same rising time, same baking temp and time. Place in bundt pan or two-medium sized loaf pans.
